Experience in a live demo how TESSA DAM efficiently manages your digital content.
Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing retail
A central theme of the tour was the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the retail and e-commerce sector. The focus was on the motto “Brace for AI”, which underlines the importance of AI for future developments. Akeneo presented the step from pure product experience to “Product Insights”, whereby user ratings can be fed directly back into the system to optimize product information. This function enables companies to use customer feedback effectively and adapt their offers accordingly.
In Düsseldorf, the inspiring presentation by Prof. Dr. Stummeyer on the topic of “How AI is changing retail and e-commerce” was particularly inspiring. He presented current studies and developments, mentioning that ChatGPT 4.0 has now reached an IQ of 120 and could pass the Bavarian Abitur with a grade of 2.0 - a significant advance compared to 2022. The atmosphere here was also exuberant, and the karaoke event in the evening was so enthusiastically received that the participants only left late.
PX Insights: Integrated customer feedback
With the introduction of PX Insights, Akeneo offers a powerful feature that links customer testimonials with product data. Teams can optimize pages, refine merchandising and improve discoverability. By integrating customer reviews directly into the PIM system, a seamless connection between product information and customer experience is created.
Supplier Data Management (SDM): Efficient supplier onboarding
Another highlight was the presentation of Supplier Data Management (SDM). This tool enables efficient onboarding of suppliers, similar to an Excel importer, but with intelligent functions that automate and simplify the process.
UI extensions: Seamless integration of external content
With the new UI Extensions, Akeneo offers the option of integrating external pages or software directly into the PIM user interface. This can be done, for example, through links to external websites or by embedding content using iFrames. These extensions significantly increase the flexibility and adaptability of the system and represent further integration options for us as a DAM technology partner.
Marketplaces and connections: Advanced integrations
Akeneo is continuously expanding its connection to various marketplaces. A significant innovation is the partnership with Shopify, which includes a native connector to the Shopify system. This enables automatic data mapping to marketplaces and provides order management overviews. Companies can thus synchronize their product data efficiently and manage orders centrally.
Ad eligibility for Google: Optimization of product ads
Another feature is ad eligibility for Google, which helps companies to optimize their product ads. For example, price suggestions can be made to improve the conversion rate. Such targeted recommendations can make advertising campaigns more effective and increase sales.
TESSA DAM as a sponsor on the Unlock Tour
As a long-standing partner of Akeneo, TESSA DAM was not only a participant in Paris and Chicago, but also an official sponsor of the Unlock Tour 2025. With our own stand on site, we offered exciting insights into our digital asset management solutions and showed how seamlessly TESSA can be integrated into modern PIM workflows. The direct exchange with customers, partners and interested parties made the events a real added value for everyone involved.
Networking and evening events
In addition to the technical program items, all events offered excellent opportunities for networking. Numerous Akeneo partners and employees were present, which intensified the exchange. The evening event in a club offered a relaxed atmosphere for discussions with photo stations, games such as “Hau den Lukas” and darts as well as musical entertainment by a DJ, live violinist and later karaoke.
Conclusion
Inspiration for the future
The Akeneo Unlock Tour 2025 impressively demonstrated how artificial intelligence is transforming product information management and e-commerce. For TESSA DAM, the events were not only an opportunity to make new contacts, but also to gain valuable insights into future developments at PX.
