Our customer: ZEG
The Zweirad-Einkaufs-Genossenschaft, or ZEG for short, based in Cologne, is a purchasing association with a network of over 1,000 independent specialist bicycle dealers throughout Europe. Thanks to central purchasing, with a 60,000 square meter central warehouse and over 140 employees, ZEG stands for personal advice, the highest quality of service and the best possible prices.
Initial situation: Many images available, few on the website
Our customer ZEG has a large number of images for many brands - for example, the exclusive brands BULLS and PEGASUS, specialist retail brands such as HERCULES and KETTLER ALU RAD. In addition, the assets of products from many other brands also have to be displayed on the ZEG retailer websites. Previously, only a few images per product could be displayed on the websites. The challenge is to name assets from many sources homogeneously so that assets can be automatically linked to products via different asset types. This was to be made possible by the TESSA DAM. While suppliers deliver the data in a structured form and this data can be automatically converted by the TESSA DAM into a homogeneous and automatically processable naming of the files, this basic work must be carried out internally by ZEG itself. There are several brands, an enormous number of products and also several asset types. If the file names were to be typed manually in this case, errors would be inevitable. On the one hand, this leads to reduced sales and, on the other, to serious expense and uncertainty. A tool that helps to improve quality here is necessary. With the Asset Integration Tool (AIT) from TESSA DAM, we provide a tool for the automated naming of assets so that they can subsequently be processed without errors.
The approach: Using drag and drop to find the right file name
Whenever photos are taken, they must be named in a structured way if automated processing is to follow. If this information is not fully available, the photos must be named according to a defined taxonomy. The ZEG involves a large number of photos. Editors view the material and must approve it and name it correctly for the intended asset classes. This is where the TESSA DAM Asset Integration Tool (AIT) comes into play. Processors can use it to view and check material. It can be configured for different product classes so that editors can see which assets are required for which products. And an automatically generated name syntax is stored for precisely these asset types so that the file name can be automatically created for an image without errors. The processor sees the product name, article number and - extremely important in the case of ZEG - the color. They can then drag and drop the appropriate image onto the corresponding button. Incidentally, the product information displayed comes from the Akeneo PIM and the module shows which assets are already linked to the item. This gives the processors at ZEG a perfect overview. The information regarding the specification of the products can also be configured. For example, in addition to the article number, name and color, you can display other helpful information so that the assignment to a SKU is reliable.
The tool also allows you to create small projects: For this purpose, a list of products for which photos are required is loaded into the tool. The processor can see which products still require photos and can process them accordingly.
Your benefits: higher quality, more sales, happy colleagues
By using the Asset Integration Tool (AIT), websites are comprehensively populated with photos and other assets. Assets are also no longer missing when data is forwarded to retailers or online marketplaces. This means that the product detail pages on which your products appear are of a higher quality. Of course, it is good for the image of your brand if data and images can be seen in full. As a result, this generates more sales for you because customers are no longer deterred from buying due to missing data.
It also significantly reduces the coordination effort in your company - because nothing is more time-consuming than correcting errors in detail. If a photo does not appear on a website or is not available for a catalog production, the processor usually does not know what the cause is and goes through the entire process chain. You can save yourself this effort by reducing errors to a minimum right from the start with AIT.
This brings additional employee satisfaction as you reduce the frustration caused by the otherwise necessary troubleshooting.
Conclusion
Efficient asset integration with the TESSA AIT
Do you have many images and other assets from different sources? With the TESSA DAM Asset Integration Tool (AIT), you have the option of efficiently integrating all your asset types into the DAM. The assets are automatically named for processing in your systems. This provides you with the best conditions for further processing. This gives you considerably more security and achieves a significantly higher quality of your product detail pages. This is exactly what brings higher yields - more turnover. At the same time, you have fewer unpleasant queries and thus save yourself trouble.
